Highfields Sports Park – Major Tick for the Region

When talking about new housing developments, one of the favourite buzz words that gets bandied around is ‘lifestyle’ (even we’ve been guilty of dropping the L word in some of our earlier blogs).

But it always gets a mention because your surrounding environment is a big, big factor in deciding the type of address you want to call home.

Is proximity to shopping or schools the clincher for you?

Does the existing style of housing or landscaping in an area dictate where you’d like to build?

Or is the ‘vibe’ of the location (your neighbours and the local community) more a factor in deciding where you want to put down roots?

No matter what aspects might influence your decision to build a new home, you’ll most certainly find that The Avenues of Highfields is unique – not only in its design and construction philosophy – but also in its spectacular locale in the heart of the Highfields township and its convenience to everything you could possibly need.

That’s why the real ‘ace up the sleeve’ is our coveted position directly opposite the newly created Highfields Sports and Recreation Park.

Stage One of this multi-million dollar precinct (which is now open) boasts established playing fields, netball courts and car parking.

Not just intended for competitors, designers also had the community in mind by establishing walking and cycling paths; as well as adding complementary landscaping to enhance the picturesque country setting.

Construction of Stage Two of the park is about to begin and will feature five rectangular fields, four multi-purpose courts, clubhouse infrastructure and amenities.

Costing more than $10 million ($1.5m from the State Government), it’s expected to be built and opened by December, 2018.

This is incredible news for young homeowners still actively involved in their favourite sports as well as families with their own sporting tribes, as the central location will play host to a wide variety of different codes.

And it all sits just a few metres up the road from The Avenues.

Forget bundling everyone into the car for that exhausting Saturday morning ritual, you’ll be able to wander up to the kids’ next game at your leisure (and be back to the comforts of home in minutes).

But the construction of the Highfields Sports and Recreation Park has far bigger implications than simple convenience.

This major investment by Toowoomba Regional Council and the State Government is a vote of confidence in the area.  Stage 1 was a massive $17 million.

It’s an endorsement – the ultimate validation.

It says: “We know Highfields will become a central hub for this district, and accordingly, it needs the infrastructure to support this incredible growth”.

That’s why the appeal of The Avenues of Highfields development goes far beyond proximity to the new sporting fields.

State and local governments see the potential in the area and are investing for the future.

New homeowners can do the same.

And in years to come, as sports teams battle it out to see who will taste victory up the road, new owners at The Avenues will be savouring a ‘win’ of their own – content in the knowledge that they were able to secure a block in one of the most sought-after residential estates in Queensland.
