Parklands Precinct fosters sense of community
The Avenues of Highfields, have introduced a new level of “Park Luxury” to their residential property development by launching stage 2, The Parklands Precinct. The team behind The Avenues have made a significant investment to create a parklands area that fosters a sense of community and belonging, an approach not usually seen in your typical residential development.
Project Director, Stephen Bowers, commented that the vision for The Avenues of Highfields is to build a community not just a development.
“We have intentionally invested heavily into our two large park areas as we want them to be the meeting place for our residents to relax and enjoy. To create a sense of ownership we have also given the park its own identity and moving forward it will be referred to Sandy Brennan Park,” explained Mr Bowers.
Sandy Brennan Park was chosen in honour of Highfields local and wife of the developments engineer, Ged Brennan, who sadly passed away last year. The park area, at a generous size of 6,800m2 is centrally located within the Parklands Precinct to provide a meeting place for residents and the local community to enjoy and gather for celebrations such as BBQ’s, birthday celebrations and Christmas Carols. Sandy Brennan Park will be fully landscaped including bike paths and widened footpaths, a central pavilion, large open spaces and a childrens’ playground. The design of the park seeks to provide the community of upwards of 1,350 residents with a space that facilitates a healthy lifestyle through play and access to quality open space.
