The Federal Government has just announced an extension on the construction commencement requirement from six months to 18 months.
The extension is available to all applicants who signed a contract between June 4, 2020, and April 14, 2021 (which includes the entire HomeBuilder period)
Applicants now have until April 30, 2023, to submit all supporting documentation to their relevant state or territory revenue office.
The HomeBuilder grant formed part of a range of Australian Government initiatives intended to support confidence in the residential construction sector and encourage consumers to proceed with purchases or renovations that may have been delayed due to uncertainty around the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
